Sort of official before and after shots
There are a lot of these so I'll do them a few at a time. It may be interrupted by our vacation next week, but I promise I will finish. Of course, my after shots are not as nice as the befores because I don't have a wide angle lens and a fancy flash on a fancy camera. I used my trusty iPhone, so this was the best I could do. I also discovered that the photos that were on the original listing are very old. The flower beds with stones and cactus plants (that are the bane of our existence) are nowhere to be found in the original listing photos. There are also some trees that are missing in the photos too. Listing your house? Just pull out the photos from 10 years ago!

We really haven't done much to the exterior. Except unintentionally kill all the "grass." We swapped out the exterior light fixtures and got a bid to remove all the cactus plants, agave plants, and yucca plants. One day soon, I hope to paint the exterior. I know you will all vote to keep the mint green, but it's going, going, gone.
We did a lot in the living room, and there's still a lot left to do. I painted the wood ceiling and trim, we ripped out the ugly fireplace, laid hardwood floors, painted, got new white blinds, changed out the ceiling fan for a light fixture. I got a new mantel, and one day we hope to rebuild the fireplace. There are boxes of brick pavers sitting there, we just haven't gotten around that project yet. Also, those white rocking chairs are going to go out on the front porch when we finally move in.
This is the dining room, which we will use as an office. It was very hard to get the same angle for the picture, but I tried. In this room we changed out the light fixture, painted the ceiling, painted the walls and trim, laid hardwood floors. We also got a standing desk for my husband to use, and we built the wood table top to go onto the metal frame.
This was the biggest transformation in the whole house, the kitchen. We first removed the monster florescent light fixture. Then I painted the cabinets, put in a new tile backsplash, installed new hardware, got new countertops, painted the walls and trim, removed the tile flooring, installed new hardwood flooring. The light fixtures were changed out, we got our contractor to patch the ceiling and install new can lights as well as 2 pendant lights. Then I primed and painted the wood ceiling. When one of the old black appliances bites the dust, we will have them all replaced.
FYI there are strings hanging from the light fixture that will be over the kitchen table because we keep whacking our heads on it when we're not paying attention.
Ok, that's all for now!
The kitchen is amazing! Well, the whole house is amazing too but the kitchen is so beautiful!
