Lighting

Let us look back at the ugly monstrosity that formerly housed the lighting in the kitchen ceiling.

 

This was our #1 demo project after we took possession of the house in late September.

 

And yesterday, I think (I think) the ceiling/lighting was finished by the contractor.

The patch job isn't perfect. It actually looks better from the other direction. But the old part of the ceiling had some gaps in it that the new bead board doesn't have, so it got out of line on one corner. Nobody will notice because who looks at ceilings anyway? Now that I've said that, all of our visitors are totally going to come look at our kitchen ceiling every time.

And in true Murphy's law fashion, the hardwood floor in the kitchen buckled in 2 spots. We pulled up one end and the floor had expanded all the way to the wall, so we've got to fix it. And hopefully that will fix it.
