Grout success!
I grouted the floor in the powder room, and I lived to tell about it! Note to self (and the DIY world): the CORRECT product/tool/information makes all the difference in the world.
After a quick trip to Lowe's, the land of the great grout color selection, I came back with a 25 lb. bag of sanded grout in warm gray, a 5 gallon bucket, and a mixer attachment for my Ryobi drill. I tried mixing just half a bag, and I probably could have grouted the entire house with that much.
All right, I'm ready to go!
All done!

It really was easier than I thought it would be. The grout went on, didn't instantly turn into cement, and I was able to wipe it off and make beautiful little divots with my sponge. Hopefully this weekend we can get the pedestal sink and new toilet installed. Then we'll have an entire room all done!
This almost makes me want to try out the process in a small space. Like a closet. That can be easily hidden. Almost.
ReplyDeleteThat bottom left tile just has something special going for it. I can't put my finger on it but it looks like it was expertly laid. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteIt does, that is my favorite tile in the whole room!
ReplyDeleteMine too! It also looks like it was expertly cut, Sandra.
