And then it rained and it rained....

So when we last left off of the tales of Urban Farmhouse septic system, the drain field was a leaky mess and would not pass inspection. The septic repair company who "fixed" it for the owner had already admitted that their heavy equipment had caused the leaks, so it was just a matter of getting them to come back out for round 2 of repair the leaky drain field pipes.

Then Austin got a foot and a half of rain. It started on a weekend and continued for a solid week. Yet again, things were on hold. The first extension for the first leaks had made the sellers nervous, so going back for another longer extension of our option period was not going to be well received. Our agent is pretty clever and suggested that we word the extension so that it only covers the septic - so if we decided to walk away, it could only be for an issue with the septic system, not for any little other thing that we don't like. Her suggestion was well received to our surprise and WW3 did not break out over this additional delay.

We weren't informed when the repairs would take place, so we didn't get to go watch (again). I kind of think that was on purpose. :)  But pretty soon after we all were allowed off the ark, we got a call that the repairs were done and the re-inspection was scheduled - this time the fee was on the septic repair company.

The yard in the Urban Farmhouse is a muddy mess, y'all. We went over for the re-inspection, and came out with mud up to our knees. However, we didn't care because the septic inspector did the drain field test and it passed! Success! We have a really old septic system that works! For now!
