Weekly update
The kitchen cabinets are still not put back together. I'm letting the paint cure as long as possible before I get it all reassembled.
I got the cabinets in the master bath painted. I opted to paint them Benjamin Moore Fieldstone Gray, instead of White Dove.

Those cabinets are still not put back together either - for the same reason. In another week or so, I'll put the new hardware on them and see the final product.
I painted one room! What an accomplishment. This is the middle child's room (the oldest one still living at home), and she picked out the color - from a list of colors I had already approved. I banged up my knuckles while trying to get the new white switch plate to fit over the new switches. It looks like I've been street fighting.
We've started a rubble pile in the garage. That's the remnants of the Fireplace Debacle, and a bunch of ugly brown blinds and the empty boxes of the pretty new white blinds that replaced them.
Today I ripped out the floor tile backsplash.
It's beginning to feel like nothing will ever be put back together again. Gah!
I find that having at least one space (like that newly-painted bedroom) that is 'done' can be a tremendously helpful "oasis of hope" when the chaos kicks off an anxiety attack!
ReplyDeleteI really like the grey cabinets in the bathroom. Is the countertop staying? What about the oval mirrors?
ReplyDeleteI got the countertops measured yesterday for replacement. Soapstone is going in the kitchen. Hopefully in the bathroom too - if it's too much $$, then we'll go with a low level granite for the bathroom and just do soapstone in the kitchen. Those cafe mirrors are ones that I put in. They swivel!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to see you went with the Fieldstone Gray! Looks as good as I thought it would...like a calm, soothing space. Love Logan's room, too. I'm amazed at the progress you've made so far!
ReplyDeleteVery cool. I want to come and see it. I have a lot of days I need to take off before the end of the year. Maybe I could come out for a long weekend.
