Things I have done
I did finally come to the conclusion that the cabinet hardware in the kitchen needed to be black. So I ordered some new stuff and started installing it. I got about halfway done and discovered that half of the black hardware I bought was nickel instead. No thanks, already have some nickel hardware. So I had to stop in the middle of the project and call the company to get it straightened out. These pics are of the half of the kitchen that I got installed. Since then, I have filled all the extra holes and sanded them and installed the missing trim pieces underneath the countertops. One day, I will break out the cabinet paint and do all those touch ups.
I also picked out the accent tile for the master bath. We're going to use the larger hex tile for the floor of the new shower. The floor and walls will be tiled in the same stuff we put in the other bathrooms (gray 12x24). I got some of the small hex tile to look at (because that's how Home Depot does samples - buy and return) and decided to keep it - we will probably use it in the "nooches" that we put in the shower and by the bathtub.
We went to Lumber Liquidators to pick out flooring. Like always, I went in there with a preconceived notion of what I was going to purchase. Capstone Grey Oak floors. What I came out with is Burnt Umber Bamboo. I'm still not sure about this whole bamboo floor thing, but when we told the guy we wanted to install the floors ourselves and we were going to float them, our choices suddenly narrowed. However, we have been assured that the installation will be easy (stop laughing) and that any wear and tear from our 2 little dogs will be negligible.
I also painted the insides of the master closets. I had *just* gotten all the trim paint out of my hair from the last time I cracked open that oil based stuff. So now I have paint all in my hair again. The former resident had built this gigantic shoe rack all the way up to the ceiling in one of the closets. It had never been painted, so I had to paint that too. He also made a tie rack with a piece of baseboard and a bunch of nails, but I took that down. The walls are Alabaster and the trim is Pure White. I am high from the paint fumes.
I cleaned all the tools, equipment, and garbage out of the upstairs rooms. They're ready to be moved into.

These are the Burnt Umber Bamboo pictures that I stole from the website.
