What has happened this week?

 

I painted the master bedroom. I also started putting the drawers and cabinet doors back on the kitchen cabinets, but I didn't get far enough to warrant a picture yet. Maybe this week.

 

You can't buy tile samples at Home Depot. You have to buy and entire box of each kind of tile you like, take it home, and return the boxes that you don't like. We took a family poll, and the tile in the first pic won. It'll go in all of the bathrooms.

 

We met with a handyman to go over the list of things we need for him to do. We were planning to tear out the shower and put in a new more open shower in its place. However, the handyman suggested that we flip where the shower and tub are. So put a tub in the place where the shower was, and make the gigantic tub area into a shower. Makes total sense. So we started tearing out the shower to open up the space and see how we feel about the suggestion.

Who knows why they dropped that ceiling and enclosed the shower like that. There was nothing up there but empty space. Lucky for us.

 

I think we'll be able to comfortably fit a 5 ft tub in there, and the new shower area will be 6 ft by about 4 ft. Really nice. The teenage boy had a fun time helping with demo.

Get ready. We've decided to put in hardwood floors. We'll do the demo ourselves. We may even do the installation.
